I am excited to  announce that Danielle Thompson, MPT has joined the LightHouse team as Community Liaison and Service Excellence Specialist. Danielle brings a wealth of  experience in rehabilitation, homecare, and  building client relationships.   Danielle is out in the community this week with Audrey Anderson, RN,  learning the ropes and meeting our referral sources.

Danielle’s service area will include Mount Vernon Hospital and the surrounding area, portions of Virginia Hospital Center, and all of Arlington County, and the DC Hospitals including Georgetown University Medical Center.

Danielle will be part of the NorthernLights Keeper Team so if you are on or work with NorthernLights, do look for an opportunity to greet Danielle, and welcome her aboard.

Here’s a little bit about Danielle, in her own words:

Dear Friends and Colleagues at LightHouse:

“Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself.  My name is Danielle Thompson, and I am a Community Liaison at LightHouse Healthcare for the NorthernLights region.

I am a licensed Physical Therapist and obtained my Master’s Degree in PT from Northeastern University in 2003.  Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of facilities, starting in a hospital setting in Massachusetts, where I worked with patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

In 2005, I moved to Florida and worked exclusively in an outpatient clinic and was promoted to Clinic Manager.  I was responsible for managing 5 support personnel and treating patients in a clinic that saw about 100 patients a week. In that role, I was also responsible for marketing and maintaining positive relationships with our community and our referral sources.  After 3 years, I decided to make the transition to home health care as I had the desire to treat patients one on one to ensure they were receiving the best care.  I loved working with patients and families in the comfort of their own home and providing them with peace of mind during the sometimes-difficult transition from the hospital back to home.

After relocating to Arlington in 2009, I continued working in home health care in Washington, DC.  Last year, after my daughter was born, I created an LLC to allow me to provide individuals with exercise therapy in the comfort of their own home.   When I interviewed with LightHouse and learned that we shared the same values, passion for top quality care, and the belief that the patient comes first, I knew it would be a great fit for me.

As a Community Liaison at LightHouse, I plan to educate doctors, case managers and families about the value of home health care and the high level of skilled services and compassionate care we provide at LightHouse.  I will work to earn their trust in our organization and in our clinical team, and will do everything I can to ensure that they are satisfied with the outcome.

Outside of work, I am the mother of an 18-month-old daughter, Jenna.  My husband and I are looking to buy a home this summer and settle down somewhere in the Northern Virginia area.  I look forward to meeting and working with all of you.”

Sincerely,

Danielle
